Home Depot Kids Project

The first Saturday of every month Home Depot puts on a kids workshop that is absolutely free.  It is incredible what they get to make.  We have made frames, race cars, and snowman napkin holders.  This past Saturday the kids built a little box to keep things organized.  They get to use miniature hammers, glue and paint.  We always leave there having used half a package of baby wipes just to minimize the mess.  I found green paint in Kessler's armpit the day after we did the project.  It is always an experience trying to "help" the kids build their projects.  Kessler is Mr. Independent and wants nothing to do with your help.  I think he would beat his project to pieces with the miniature hammer before he let you help him.  Callie is a little better about getting directions from dad.  Here are some pictures that I snapped in between getting my fingers hammered by my little man.

Getting ready to start.  Kessler is already at work on hammering his directions.

They are busy at work glueing and hammering.

On to the painting.  Can you guess what Callie's favorite color is?  Blue!!   I think she added a little pink and purple but mostly blue.

Dave trying to help Kessler paint.  It was a fight, I think that is why I found paint in his armpit.

The finished product!!

Off to Starbucks for a little treat after the hard work of hammering, glueing and painting.

I love these kids so much!!!  They make my heart happy :)
