Just over a week ago we transitioned Kessler from his crib and Callie from her toddler bed into Bunk Beds. It has been a battle ever since. Even as I write, I have had to go in their to quiet them down. My kids go to bed at 7 p.m. nightly. Since this transition, they have not been falling asleep till well after 9 p.m. They think it is play time when the light goes out. I can't keep Kessler out of Callie's top bunk and I can't keep Callie in her bed if my life depended on it. They talk, sing, bang on walls, play with toys and keep each other up till well after their bed time. In turn, I get to deal with sleepy, cranky, winey, sleep deprived kids the following day. I have to keep reminding myself that it has only been a week and they are still getting adjusted to this new way of sleeping. I guess it is better to deal with this transition now then when our new baby girl is here and mom is sleepy, cranky, winey and sleep deprived. Let's just pray that this does not last too much longer.

Kessler's first nap in his big boy bed. He fell asleep within minutes (only because Callie naps in our room).

Showing off their new sheets and blankies. We went to Walmart so they could pick them out themselves.

Callie in her Dora bed.

Kessler in his Car's bed.

My big kids in their big beds. They really are growing up so fast.

Callie pretend sleeping and begging I would take a picture of her.
On a positive note about the bunk beds, we were truly blessed by a couple from our church who gave us the bunk beds outright. Their girls used them when they were growing up and now they are 25 and 27. Despite the age of these bunks, they are solid. You can purposely try and rock them and they will not budge. Then using Groupon, we got 2 mattresses for $100. What a deal!!! Thank you Lord for your awesome provision.
