Dave's mom (Yama) and step-dad (Pa) made the trek all the way from Chicago to come to the heat of the Arizona dessert. They endured thunderstorms, tornado warnings, and even a Texas haboob (huge dust storm). It was quite the adventure they had just to get to us. We were so thankful to have them here with us. We stayed busy going to places that were either indoors, higher elevation, or required a bathing suit. They were able to be at the dedication of our kids. We also celebrated a couple of Birthdays, took them up to Mount Lemmon, ate Sonoran hot dogs, went to Kylah's therapy, drove around Dave's beat, went swimming, and went on some drives to look at the Tucson area. It was also fun seeing my kids snuggle with Yama and Pa while they read books and watched shows. Kylah enjoyed playing "throw the shapes" with Pa and giggling and smiling with Yama and Pa from a safe distance in mama's arms. She was sick and therefore stayed close to me. We love Yama and Pa so much and miss them already. Thank you for taking the time and spending the money to come see us. We are so thankful for the precious time we have with you!!

We were at the top of the Mountain here. The weather was beautiful but it sure was sunny!

The ski lift at the top of the mountain. The kids were begging to go on it but knowing how brave my kids are, they just might think they could jump and land gracefully.

While driving around Dave's beat he showed us the fence that he had to climb while on duty, to help his fellow officers out. In the process, he ripped his pants (and boxer shorts) wide open. My husband is a stud. If you notice the fence is about 9 feet tall with hardly any way to get leverage. But he managed to get over it and help his friends out, with an arrest and ripped pants to show for.

While Yama and Pa were visiting, Dave's cousin Brock (and Yama's nephew) and wife heather, drove through Tucson on their travels from California to Texas. The day they stopped in, just so happened to be Brock's birthday. We celebrated with a BBQ and brownies. It was so great to see them. We love you guys and wish we were closer so we could do BBQs more often.
