Kylah Liane Has Arrived

On July 27th, 2012 our precious little princess arrived at 10:51 a.m.  She was born weighing 8 pounds 15 ounces and measured 21 1/4 inches.  Her head circumference was in the 99th percentile.  No wonder I had such a hard time pushing her out!!!  With my previous two, they practically squirted out but Kylah had me pushing for 20 or more minutes.  The main highlight of this labor was making it to the Birth Center, although Dave thought I might give birth in the car.  The midwife who delivered Kylah was great but the person who encouraged me and got me through the painful process of birth was my amazing husband.  He literally was my rock.  Not realizing it, I was pulling on his arm with all my strength and body weight when I was pushing little Kylah out.  You would of thought I was clinging to a solid rock, he was so steady and strong for me.  Dave literally is my strength when I give birth.

Here I am on my Due date, July 22nd.  This was my biggest prego belly.

Here I am seconds after delivering this precious gift from God (sweaty and all).

A couple hours after giving birth, the family came for a visit.  I always get nervous to introduce the newest member of the family to the older one or ones.  Callie did not enjoy meeting Kessler for the first time and I did not want to have to experience that all over again.  This experience was quite the opposite.  Callie and Kessler loved their new sister.  They couldn't get enough of her.  All Kessler wanted to do was hold her and kiss her and touch her "little toesies ."  Callie was so excited about her little sister, she couldn't sit still and even fell off the bed while looking at her.  Here are a few more pictures of the visit to the Birth Center and some of when we came home the next day.

Getting ready to meet her big brother and sister.

Callie and Kessler's first look at their new sister.

Holding Kylah for the first time.  I love both of their expressions.  It sums up exactly how they both feel about her.

Gramma love!!

Our first family photo.  Love, love, love our new family of 5!!!

My niece Ria got to hold her new cousin.

A close up of her poor beat up face.  She has a cute birth mark on her left eyelid but the rest of the redness was from birth.

Kylah's first car seat ride.

Callie and Kess had gifts for Kylah when she got home.  They got her a princess pinwheel and princess balloons.

They were so excited.

I was a bit stressed trying to keep the baby safe from pinwheels and balloons being shoved in her face.

Kylah Liane Collins, we love you!!!
