I am so proud of my husband!!! After 17 (long for me, quick for Dave) weeks, Dave received his badge from the Chief of the Tucson Police Department. It was crazy to see Dave in his uniform and gun belt. He was so handsome. It is often said that a man looks good in uniform, I can tell you, my man sure looked good in his uniform. The journey to get his badge was a tough one, but for Dave, he did it with ease. I think the journey was harder for me, the one at home with three kids during the 13 hours he was gone, four days a week. He now has 6 weeks of post basic training then 15 weeks of field training. After that he is on his own. His 15 weeks of field training can be very difficult so prayers during this time are appreciated.
At his graduation Dave received an award that the entire class voted for him to receive. They voted for the person who displayed great character, teamwork, and overall performance. His plaque stated "Exemplary Recruit." This is an incredible accomplishment. Not only was Dave a nice guy at the academy, he was a leader amongst his peers. People often came to him for advice and prayer. He also displayed a natural ability to do the job of a Police Officer. He did amazingly well at senarios, shooting, driving and fighting. Not only was my man an exemplary recruit at the academy, he was an exemplary husband and dad after his long, tiring days at the academy. Thank you Lord for all you have done for our family in the last 17 weeks!
